Welcome to the First Christian Church, the "down-home" church located in the heart of downtown Roanoke.  Established in 1888 the church has served as a beacon of hope to the Roanoke Valley for nearly twelve decades.  While the church is not about history, we do have a lot of history.  Our sanctuary built in 1910 is a beautiful high arched gothic design that embraces first time visitors with a sense that this is what a church should look like.  Small in size, seating for only slightly more than 200 it gives a cathedral feel complete with stain-glass windows that are nearly two stories tall and a pipe organ that can ring all those exposed rafters.  Our twin steeples go mostly unnoticed, and many who drive by on a daily basis hardly notice our building.  But, you step inside, the general response is “wow”!  Come and see for yourself any weekday 9 am until noon, or better still, come on Sunday for worship at 10:30 am.
